Summary: Design mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical products, equipment and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical Design (Large and Small Assemblies Modeling and Design)
  • Modeling and 2D detailing
  • Develop simple assembly models from concept
  • Develop large assemblies from Copy Design
  • Develop full machine assemblies from concept
  • Integration of full machines into large system assemblies
  • Integration of new Vendor parts into assemblies at all levels
  • I-parts and Vendor Supplied model integration at all levels
  • Item Master generation (Part Numbers) and Product Structure creation (Bills of Materials)
  • Integrate Bills of Materials on multiple levels into machine assemblie

2. Project Costing

  • Change/Update/Edit items and structures within (PDM) Product Data Management system to correct issues
  • Manage Engineering Change Control within a specific line of machines

3. (ECR) Engineering Change Requests, processing and response

4. (ECO) Engineering Change Orders, processing and response

5. Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements

6. Maintain professional and technical knowledge

7. Contribute to Mechanical Engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending option and courses of action; implementing directives.

8. Contribute to team effort.

9. Travel up to 10% - Customer Care and Sales field support

10. Understand Divisional Product line sufficiently to support Customer Care and Sales in the field

11. Understand Industry concepts sufficiently to take part in competitive field surveys

12. Closely assist Service internally and externally on equipment service and troubleshooting issues.

13. Work with Customer care Parts Sales on parts research, sales of aftermarket parts and retrofits and conversions as full Engineering Projects.

  2. Autodesk Inventor (2016-2018)
  3. (PDM) Product Data Management system (i.e., Lawson/M3)
  4. AutoCAD 2D a plus

  1. (Specific) Divisional Product Knowledge
    1. Focused product knowledge related to specific CPD Customer processes
    2. Industry knowledge in the manufacturing and handling of CPD Customer products
    3. Intimate knowledge on a focused area of the CPD product line.
  2. (Understand Specific) Divisional products to assist Applications and Sales
    1. to do estimates on Engineering project hours, scope and timeline
    2. to understand accounting of costs, make equipment cost estimates for Applications
