Mechanical Engineer I

Blue Canyon Technologies (BCT) is offering the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary technical team to deliver spacecraft busses for LEO, GEO, Cislunar, and Deep Space missions. We support a diverse suite of customers, including commercial, non-profit, NASA, military, IC, and university missions.

Position Purpose: The Mechanical Engineer I is an entry level position that requires no previous work experience but requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering. As such an ME-I is early in their career with broad theoretical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering (i.e., they are not a specialist). An ME-I undertakes tasks that are of limited scope and complexity, such as minor parts of a broader engineering problem.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $ 100,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

• Under supervision from senior engineers as to method of approach and requirements, the Mechanical Engineer I performs normal Mechanical Engineering work and exercises individual judgment and initiative in the application of Mechanical Engineering principles, techniques, and methods.
• The ME-I assists more-senior Mechanical Engineers by carrying out tasks requiring accuracy and adherence to prescribed methods of analysis and design, however their work is reviewed by senior Mechanical Engineers for validity, adequacy, methods, and procedures.
• With experience, an ME-I requires less review of their work and progressively exercises more individual judgment until reaching the Level II competency is achieved.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Education:

• 0+ years of relevant experience
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
