POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Engineer will perform technical and administrative duties relating to production engineering functions and programs. The Engineer will demonstrate experience in 3D modeling parts and assemblies, the release of build packages for high mix production, continuous improvement and flow optimization for a value stream. The Mechanical Engineer duties will include developing 3-D Models, Production Drawings, Bill of Materials, Manufacturing Files, problem solving and root cause analysis.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Develop deep understanding of derivative order launch process from specification / order initiation to build and ship.
• Capable of understanding and processing existing 3-D Models and developing new ones using Creo.
• Process documentation and prepare drawings relating to the Production team
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Provide support in troubleshooting production issues relative to performance, fit, finish and BOM accuracy.
• Design Mechanical parts and assemblies in support of NPD (New Product Development) initiatives, including failure mode and effect analysis, advanced predictive engineering tools, performance testing and analysis, and agency certifications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure new products are optimized for manufacturability, installation and field service.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required

Experience:

• 3-5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience working for a manufacturing company.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in 3D Modeling Software to design Sheet Metal parts, sub-assemblies and top-level assemblies, checking for form, fit and function.
• Proficiency in advanced modeling and basic programming a plus.
• Skilled with Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel

Certificates & Licenses:

• Lean of DMAIC Six sigma background preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, detail oriented and ability to adapt to a variety of employee issues that require prompt and efficient resolutions.
• Ability to work autonomously and assist in complex Shop Release issues and duties.
