Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer to work for a well-established manufacturing plant in Tulsa, OK. The Design Engineer will research, plan, and design mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems. Design fixtures and tooling required to produce parts and assemble and test products. Design experience with natural gas compressor support equipment including scrubber level controls, dump valves, control valves, pressure regulators, oil level controllers and other compression accessories preferred.

Starting Salary: $85K to $110K (based off experience)

Job Functions and Performance Standards:

• Researches and analyzes data related to new product designs, existing product applications, existing product improvements etc.
• Performs ROI and feasibility studies on new product designs and existing product improvements. Product improvements include but are not limited to; product design modifications that improve product performance and/or lower the manufacturing cost and changes made to assembly processes that reduce assembly time and/or reduce assembly errors.
• Performs the necessary engineering calculations required to verify new product designs, assembly tooling, procedures and product applications.
• Designs new products and existing product improvement modifications. Existing product improvement modifications include but are not limited to modifications that improve product fit, form, function, reliability or lower cost/price. Designs tooling required to assemble products in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Designs test procedures and equipment needed to verify product and product component performance as required.
• Creates drawings necessary to produce product. Drawings include but are not limited to; machine part drawings, weldment drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and drawings used in various instructions and literature. All drawings produced will be in Pro Engineer and/or AutoCAD. The engineering manager will determine which CAD system is appropriate for the job.
• Works with purchasing, vendors and suppliers to source purchased parts and raw materials needed to produce new products, product improvement modifications and tooling.
• Obtains all of the data needed to document all part numbers, assembly numbers and bills of materials in Sage (or current ERP system). This data includes but is not limited to; part numbers, drawing numbers, procurement (make/buy), product codes, vendor used, cost of material(s), machine time, welding time, paint time, assembly time and overhead. Enter all part numbers, sub assembly numbers and bills of materials in sage. Verifies costs meet requirements of ROI.
• Works with machine shop, weld shop, paint shop and assembly in a cooperative and team-oriented environment to ensure the transition of a product modification or the implementation of a new product line is a smooth one.
• 5 + years of Mechanical Engineering experience and a Bachelor's Degree is required.
