SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.
JOB DESCRITION:
Candidate will be supporting AN/SLQ-32(V)7 through all phases of product life cycle, including requirements development, design, development, data package creation and validation, test & evaluation, production, acquisition, and sustainment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment, and packages.
- Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
- Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
- Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
- Should possess a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
- General knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and two (2) years or more experience; Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and zero (0) years or more experience.
- May require travel to support planning meetings, reviews, etc. (IWS 2E in Washington, DC; and supporting Contractor facility locations; etc.).
- Willing to work in office, lab, and shipyard environments.
- Must be an effective written and verbal communicator and have strong technical writing skills.
- Interim Secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a full secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Model-Based Engineering (MBE) / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience desired.
