SAIC is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Associate in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will support the Infrared Countermeasures Design Branch (WXRL) in both improving existing items in development of new airborne expendable countermeasures devices. Expendable Countermeasures (AECM) including both infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF), off-board countermeasures and dispensing systems, AECM dispensing systems, and IR Countermeasures Stimulator systems for aircraft, vessels, vehicles or facility protection systems and technical and program management support across a wide range of laser technologies and applications development activities.
Job duties include:
- Coordinate testing, development plans, perform data analysis, and generate detailed technical reports for various countermeasure development projects.
- Will work directly with many stakeholders to accomplish objectives; OTA, Environment, and X-ray for test execution.
- Witness testing and evaluate those results, ultimately generating/submitting the final reports for approval.
- Ability to understand/interpret highly technical specifications and test standards and able to provide convincing arguments and/or analogies to obtain results.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree (Science, or Engineering Technician) and 2-5 years of experience in related tasking
- Secret Clearance required; Interim Secret needed to start
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain an explosive certification in the applicable Family Groups and Operations to assist in test executions
- Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
DESIRED
- Experience at a DoD location preferred
