About the Position:
The Mechanical Engineer will lead in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes within the assigned value stream. Plan and improve production methods; estimate production times and optimum staffing to meet production goals. Provide results driven technical support in all manufacturing functions. Participate as a member of the engineering team capable of carrying out needed engineering initiatives, with emphasis on processes, supporting product design, planning and coordinating projects, and sustaining engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develops and implement manufacturing processes, tools, and improvements throughout the facility, up to and including sheet metal formation, welding, light and heavy mechanical and electrical assembly, fabrication, and paint.
- Monitors value stream metrics for value stream health, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead process improvement implementation - Safety, Skills, Quality, Delivery, Capacity, and Productivity.
- Analyzes value stream performance to site objectives and initiate including human work factors, quality assurance, inventory control, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
- Supports operations and maintenance leadership in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment and tools.
- Completes research and collects data to analyze areas for design processes for optimizing productivity.
- Conducts release readiness reviews (pre-checks) as necessary.
- Drafts technical documents and drawings using computer aided design and software programs.
- Designs, develop, test, improve, and evaluate production tools and other electrical/mechanical functioning equipment.
- Writes reports to document problems, solutions, actions, and communication findings
- Plans for and improves all production methods including production flow, equipment layout, tooling, assembly methods, and production equipment.
- Manages risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
- Manages relationships and coordinate work between different teams, shifts, and locations throughout the value stream
- Serves as a core team member for the development of organizational SOPs and process documentation.
- Conducts experiments, tests, and monitoring the process performance throughout production.
- Develops, update, and implement operating and quality control procedures. Work with leadership to ensure they are met.
- Participates in product development, testing, and design DFx reviews to provide manufacturing input on designs for manufacturability.
- Champions continuous improvement efforts with the team and promote healthy, respectful communications.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Preferred Skills
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of 2+ combined years of technical, engineering, manufacturing, or production experience in manufacturing plants preferred.
- Formal Lean Six Sigma Training and demonstrated understanding of LEAN principles and experience in process improvement initiatives preferred.
- Experience with Jira, AutoCAD, Adobe, Inventor, and BricsCAD preferred.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
