The overall objective of the job is to generate mechanical/structural drawing package consisting of multiple plan views, elevation drawings and equipment door cutouts for EEC, MV/LV MCC & switchgears.
Requirements:- Create detail drawings for Electrical Equipment Centers (EEC or PDC), Medium Voltage and Low Voltage switchgear, Motor control
- centers, Utility panels.
- Utilize mechanical 3d design software (Solidworks, AutoCAD) to accomplish the tasks.
- Communicate with mechanical assembly department and welding department with drawings, written instructions, and verbal
- instructions.
- Based on provided sketches, markups and directions; develop plan view and elevation drawings.
- Work cooperatively with all team members and communicate effectively.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of ASME Y14. 5 standards for mechanical drafting processes and procedures.
Skills Required
- Have technical understanding of mechanical component assy/tolerance, sizing cutouts using proper clearance, bolting and
- welding type connections, for creating mechanical drawings accurately.
- Assume responsibility, plan and execute assigned tasks to meet expectations (cost, quality and on time performance)
- Manage multiple tasks from start to finish.
- An aptitude for engineering and a vision that would help in effective management of utility resources would be the most essential skills.
- Good business acumen.
- Excellent technical management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good planning and organizing skills are some of the other qualities which will be of great help.
- Able to demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and dedication.
Required Experience & Education
- Associate degree or Diploma in Engineering drafting or CAD
- 1-3 years of design experience with switchgears, MCC's or EEC's
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk.
- Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
- Some lifting (up to 30 lbs.). Long hours on computer keyboard.
