Mechanical Design Engineer - Station Tooling
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a focus on Station Tooling to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Mechanical Design, with specific experience in detailing, checking, and designing using both 2D and 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks and AutoCAD. This role involves designing and developing tooling and equipment for various assembly stations, including cam cap or main bearing assembly stations, press stations, cylinder block or cylinder head leak test stations, and ring gear assembly stations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop detailed mechanical components and assembly Station Tooling using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Create 2D and 3D models, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing.
- Participate in the entire design process from concept to production, including brainstorming, sketching, modeling, and prototyping.
- Conduct detailed analysis and review of Mechanical Designs to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and project management, to ensure project success.
- Provide technical support for tooling and equipment during production.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in Mechanical Design and tooling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in Mechanical Design, particularly in an automotive or aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for both 2D and 3D design.
- Experience with Station Tooling design, including but not limited to cam cap or main bearing assembly stations, press stations, cylinder block or cylinder head leak test stations, and ring gear assembly stations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform design checks for quality assurance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
