Position
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the development process of new products from concept to completion. The ideal candidate must be able to solve complex problems with minimal supervision and adapt to situations as they come. You will need to ensure that the quality of standards is achieved for all new and existing products. In addition, the engineer will need to be willing to be hands on with the development of the product as required in the shop. This position requires a high level of presence not just for the design but throughout the entire process as you are responsible for the successful completion of any new or existing product modifications.
Responsibilities
· Develop and design tooling for vacuum-formed ABS parts
· Design new products as well as maintain existing product lines
· Generate G-Code for CNC using CAM software
· Prototype designs for post-processing parts to streamline manufacturing
· Documentation of processes including engineering drawings and BOMs
· Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment when down and debug manufacturing problems as they arise
· Analyze current manufacturing processes and find ways to improve

Desired Qualifications
· Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
· (2) years of experience using 3D CAD such as SolidWorks, AutoDesk Inventor, etc.
· (2) years of manufacturing experience, ideally with 5-axis machining and Vacuum Forming
· (2) years of reverse engineering experience
· Familiarity with CAM software for G-Code generation
· Understanding of 3D scanning and free-form surface modeling
· Knowledge of 3D printing
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Schedule:
· 8 hour shift
· Monday to Thursday (32 hours a week)
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $39.00 - $42.00 per hour
