Mechanical Design Engineer EV Charging Pantographs
Starting Salary Range: $110 - $130K
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL (Suburb of Chicago, IL - Relocation Assistance Available)
Direct Hire, Full Time Perm with Full Benefits Package that starts Day One of Employment
As an experienced engineer with good working knowledge of both Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Power Principles with focus on design and development of charging products used on electric transportation vehicles.
What will your typical day look like?
- Design power transfer devices including pantographs, charging reels etc. for electric transportation vehicles.
- Analyzes charging product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
- Determines feasibility of designing new equipment considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
- Provides technical information materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
- Confers with Operations and Testing personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops required design solutions.
- Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
- Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering to coordinate manufacturing and building of prototype product or system.
- Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.
- Works closely with Test Engineering to develop test plans.
- Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specs.
- Prepares design modifications as required.
- Coordinate engineering effort with other departments to achieve project milestones.
