Mechanic - Ground Equipment Technician

FSM Group has several openings for skilled mechanically-minded individuals for our Ground equipment and airline catering truck maintenance shop. If you enjoy working with your hands on and around an aviation and airport setting, this is the job for you!

FSM Group is a commercial aviation services provider, which means we work on vehicles and equipment that support the Atlanta Airport operations. This includes: Airline luggage tugs, catering trucks, fuel carts, trucks, transport vehicles, tanker trucks, de-icing vehicles, and other ground support equipment come to our shops for maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and paint jobs.

Essential Functions and Job Duties:

• Maintenance gas engine Ground Equipment for airport
• Oil changes and other preventative maintenance on airport equipment (GSE)
• Coolant and fluid checks
• Brake checks and tire changes on airline Ground Equipment and vehicles
• Troubleshooting and diagnostics hydraulics
• Wiring and auto electrical troubleshooting
• Repairs and refurbishments as needed on airline catering trucks

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of mechanical experience of any kind (preferably auto mechanic, box truck, HVAC, refrigeration systems, etc.)
• Mechanical minds who enjoy problem-solving
• General knowledge of carburetors, alternators, starter motors, batteries, hydraulics, small engines, radiators, and diesel engines
• Experience working on Ground Support Equipment is preferred, but not required.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills desired
• At least 18 years of age.
• A valid U.S. Driver's License.
• Must be able to pass a federal fingerprint background check.
• Have proof of U.S work eligibility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
