Meat Clerk/Meat Cutter

Job Title: Meat Clerk

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Meat Manager

Maintains stock levels within the Meat Department’s sales floor by replenishing products as needed. Provides exceptional service to all guests on the sales floor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist guests with locating items on or off the sales floor
• Receives, prepares, and fulfills guest orders and other special requests
• Provides excellent guest services by professionally answering department telephone or in on the sales floor
• Supports teammates and positively contributes to the culture of the Meat Department
• Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues by practicing the Basics
• Ensures high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all meat products on display
• Maintains proper inventory levels in Meat Department (containers, wraps, tags, etc.)
• Maintains food safety logs and leads by example through following proper procedure
• Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
• Other duties as assigned

· Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

· Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel

· Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment

· Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies

· Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises. Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly

· Full range of upper body motion

· Lifting up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis

· Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures such as freezers, coolers, kitchens, and sales floor

· Repetitive motion of hands and wrists

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

WORK SCHEDULE

The Meat Clerk is an hourly part-time or full-time position. The shift to be worked will vary, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.50 - $16.50 per hour
