The MDS Data Entry Clerkis responsible for, but not limited to:
- Greets customers in a friendly and welcoming manner. Creates a positive first impression. Smiles, projects a positive attitude.
- Through the continuous improvement of standards of practice and by providing a safe and secure environment, the customer will be assured a sense of safety and well-being, free from risk and harm.
- Verifies insurance coverage of patients upon admission to Agency.
- Reports information to and collaborates with Director of Nursing and Intake Coordinator.
- Checks insurance information and corrects in computer system, if necessary.
- Formats all non-Medicare bills in our billing system.
- Prints all bills on a monthly basis and submits them as per billing and collection policy.
- Maintains patient billing files in an organized manner.
- Maintains liaison with insurance companies, fiscal intermediaries and Medicare to determine patient benefits and limitations.
- Follow-up on outstanding receivables for both Medicare and commercial insurance.
- Reports to billing supervisor all outstanding claims.
- Refers to Agency's Aged Accounts Receivable report regularly to determine need for follow-up.
- Submit Medicare secondary payer corrections and re-bill in FSS system.
- In the absence of supervisor send final claims to FSS for processing.
- Prepare Deposit Summaries of receivables on a regular basis for submission to Care One.
- Keys all reimbursements into computer system on a regular basis. This includes Medicare, when needed. Be involved with agency monthly billing including corrections of worksheets and printing of financial reports. \
- Relieves receptionist as needed.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Professional Experience:
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and/or accounting
- Self-Starter
- Basic computer skills/literacy
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good organizational and communication skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.63 - $24.84 per hour
