The role: This is an exciting opportunity to evolve and elevate the Enterprise Risk Management and Business Resilience functions at Moody’s, developing a world-class approach to risk as a point of business differentiation that drives our business strategy forward, by both protecting and enabling the business.
- Direct Reports – Internal Controls, Corp. Insurance, MSS Risk (inc. TPRM, GRC), Business Continuity
- Dotted lines – MIS Risk Head, MA Risk Head, CISO, Tech Risk Governance Head; The dotted lines will meet regularly with the CRO on an established cadence.
- MCO’s central ERM function and chair the ERM Committee (quarterly)
- MCO’s risk governance and strategy, including risk identification and controls
- Management responsibility for internal controls, business resilience, third party risk management and corporate insurance
- Technical risk management experience and strong business alignment
- Experience/Understanding of running a 2nd line risk management function, framework and governance, collaborating with senior management and business unit operational risk teams
- Understanding of a risk framework to identify and calibrate strategic, emerging and operational risks to establish risk appetite and guide better risk management decisions and drive value
- Experience of working with business risk teams, implementing controls to reduce residual risk exposure to identified risks; monitoring effectiveness of risk mitigation measures.
- Leverage of risk committees and networks across the firm; conduct regular risk assessments to anticipate emerging threats and vulnerabilities
- Keeping pace with industry and organizational change and innovation; lead articulation and demonstration of the quality of our risk management practices as a business differentiator for customers and counterparties
- Thought partnership and advisor to Moody’s executives and senior leadership, effectively challenging our business and risk leaders by investing in relationships, developing a deep understanding of our businesses and establishing a culture of collaboration
- Evolve our key risk indicators to effectively monitor and manage risk exposure
- Development of executive and board reporting; manage enterprise risk reporting via GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) system
- Work with MIS, MA and MSS Risk Leaders with regard to policy and standards for Third Party Risk Management and related resiliency requirements
- Align business continuity planning with overall operational resiliency efforts and requirements
- Become a risk center of excellence that utilizes Moody’s data and tools in ERM and TPRM

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $335,200.00 to $485,950.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
