This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.

MBS Operations & Securitized Product Secondary Support Team, is part of MUSA’s Operations - acting in a Middle Office capacity, supporting the growing Agency MBS & CMO Desks, as well as Secondary ABS & CLO Trading providing various functions.  This past year (and since inception ~6 years ago) the Desk has experienced extraordinary growth on the Trading & Sales front, which has resulted in record profitability—stemming from a record number of Outright transactions, Deals & Inventory turnover—which the team manages through our BAU functionality.

The Team works closely with the Traders & Salesforce, ensuring timely Trade Booking & Matching for Reg Reporting purposes; and also handles Splits/Allocations & TBA Allocations related processes as an MBSCC Netting Member Participant.  To ensure enhance controls and proper BAU backfill, we are requesting the addition of another seasoned professional at the Assoc./AVP Title who can help ensure proper coverage and continued improvement to adhere to the ever-improving standards we—within MUSA Ops & and MUFG as a whole—have come to expect.

Job Description

  • Seeking candidate to fulfill a multi-functional position within the MBS Operations & Securitized Product Secondary Support Team.  This team covers the Agency MBS & CMO Desks, as well as the ABS & CLO Secondary Desks here at MUFG.

  • Primary function of this role is assisting the Trading Desk and Salesforce with vital trade events including:  Trade Matching, Subaccount Allocations & Trade Confirmations; the Team is also responsible for monitoring MBSD’s RTTM & TRACE Reporting, in real-time; Collateral Management for MBS Outright, Forward Settling Transactions; Post Settlement P&I Open Item cleanup and Front-to-Back Reconciliation across a complex trading infrastructure that is constantly evolving to meet the demands of New Products

  • Daily Functions typically include:

    • Front-to-Back Reconciliations

    • Confirm & Allocate Trades via OASYS, CTM & email using MOCCA (in-house Middleware)

    • Issue & Respond to Daily bilateral MSFTA Margin Calls

    • Review & Distribute Reporting Required by Front Office Supervisory

    • TBA Allocations & MBSCC Related Activity—including AOTs, RTTM & Novation

    • Monitor TRACE in Real Time; Liaise with Desk & Reg Ops to properly capture Exception Reporting

  • Periodically reviews the relevant procedures to ensure appropriate control and consistency with Head Office guidelines and bank regulations. 

  • Ensures adherence to all bank policies and procedures relative to Regulatory Compliance including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Privacy Act, Regulations Q& X, Customer identification Program, Know Your Customer, Suspicious Activity Reports

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree, with ~5 years of MBS and/or Securitized Product Operations / Middle Office experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Operations Management, or

  • Firsthand experience on Broadridge’s MBS system stack (MBS Expert, Impact/ICI, BPS) a big plus

  • Knowledge and understanding of TBA Allocations processes and MBSCC Lifecycle including RTTM & Novation

  • Very strong customer service skills with exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem solving, research and analytical skills with the ability and willingness to work in a structured, high paced environment, with daily routine operations

  • Detail-oriented, conscientious and energetic professional with ability to think creatively

  • Self-driven and highly motivated team player

  • Ability to operate in a challenging and rapidly changing environment with a desire to accept new assignments and the ability to learn new principles and dynamic systems quickly

The typical base pay range for this role is between $90K - $110K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
