Form of workSchrodinger, a science and technology leader with 30 years of experience providing solutions for atomic-scale modeling and physics-based chemical simulations, seeks a Materials Science Developer to create application-focused software toolsincorporating classical molecular dynamics and quantum mechanics for solving complex scientific problems.
Who will love this job:
- A professional scientific software developer with a background in Materials Science (GUI experience is a plus)

What you'll do:
- Implement scientific workflows
- Design and create data and results for viewers
- Maintain existing code base
- Contribute scientifically to novel methodologies
- Deliver commercial solutions in a timely fashion
What you'll need:
- PhD in chemistry, physics, Materials Science, or a related discipline
- Experience with writing scientific software
- Deep foundation in classical and quantum mechanics, with practical application in software development
- Track record of creating or contributing substantially to existing molecular dynamics software (experience in coarse-grained molecular dynamics using Martini forcefield a plus)

Estimated base salary range (NYC only): $120,000 - $145,000. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
