JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:Materials Management Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Materials Management
JOB TYPE: Part-Time (15-20 hours/week)
JOB SUMMARY: Performs duties involved in ordering, receiving, storing,
issuing and delivering supplies. Assists the Director with other department functions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: High School graduate or equivalent
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Ability to read and write and perform clerical functions.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required
D. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: Entry level position
2. Technical Training: None required
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of walking, sitting, and standing. Lifting up to 60 pounds and transporting up to 300 pounds on carts. Frequent pushing, pulling and carrying of supplies on carts and bending, stooping and reaching to stock and distribute supplies. The ability to comprehend and follow written or verbal instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Purchasing, receiving and stocking
1. Provides purchasing support to the Director.
2. Receives supplies in designated area.
3. Reconciles purchase orders/documents to packing tickets.
4. Attaches patient charge labels to applicable supplies.
5. Delivers supplies received direct to department if stock levels are not maintained in the stock room.
6. Places supplies in the proper storage area in an organized manner.
B. Delivers supplies and assists the director in other department functions.
1. Fills requisitions and delivers supplies in accordance with established policies.
2. Keeps the director informed of supplies that need to be ordered, pending shortages and suspected pilferage, as well as help with the ordering process.
3. Assists in keeping requisition catalogs current in order that department directors or their designees have all information necessary for proper supply requests.
4. Assists with forms control.
5. Filing, data entry, answer phones, scanning documents
6. Assists with recall file maintenance.
7. Compiles purchase orders, packing tickets and invoices to assist the Director with the accounts payable process.
8. Assists in periodic and annual inventory processes.
C. Prepares reports and maintains files.
1. Prepares report of daily transactions and other periodic reports as directed.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS:
A. Maintains HIPAA required and all other confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
B. Follows safety and infection control policies and guidelines for the Hospital.
C. Maintains a proper customer service attitude in contacts with patients, visitors, and other staff members.
D. Monitors the need for quality improvements and participates in the Hospital District Quality Improvement Program.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
