SalarySUMMARY: Monitor stock supplies around assigned workstations, replenish when necessary, communicate shortages to management, and overall support the optimization of workstations. This person is to be present on the production floor at all times. This role is to keep the workstation’s focus on value-adding activities, help to avoid distractions, and facilitate flow of work. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the work processes and excellent communication abilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Monitor stock supplies around workstations, replenish when necessary
- Supply components required at workstations
- Transporting and replacing goods
- Removing waste
- Transport finished goods away from workstations
- Assisting less-experienced workers
- Move Kanban cards (if applicable)
- Update status boards
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to pass pre-employment math test
- Ability to proficiently use measuring equipment preferred
- Ability to read mechanical drawings with some assistance/training preferred
- Understanding of dimensional tolerance preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16”
- Ability to operate forklift
- Understanding of production processes
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School or GED equivalent required
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must have basic reading and writing skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Basic data entry skills including how to print documents
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or
move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance (forklift or dolly), and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance (forklift or dolly).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the non-airconditioned work environment is usually moderate. All required PPE, including steel toe shoes, must be worn and a clean work environment must be maintained.
