Job Description
Physically receives and ships packages and orders into and out of warehouse, by performing the required duties to safety, quality, and productivity standards. Drive company tractor and trailers between work sites (Lincoln and Cranston RI). To ensure all activities are handled in accordance with Finlays’ mission, business philosophy, ethics, and goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All activities performed with safety as primary goal.
- Forklift certification required to perform duties.
- Physically receives all incoming packages and orders.
- Physically ships and prepares for shipment all packages and orders.
- Verifies quantities ordered match quantities received on packing slip and note discrepancies.
- Verifies quantities ordered match quantities shipped on packing slip and note discrepancies.
- Operates forklift, wrapping machine, all other material handling equipment to specification within safety standards.
- Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to assembling and packing product containers, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons or containers in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required.
- Check incoming shipments for any visible freight damage and note any discrepancies.
- Prepares all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner.
- Record all receipts and process paperwork in a timely manner.
- Moving materials from production to finished goods and from receiving to appropriate storage areas.
- Maintains cleanliness of designated warehouse area.
- CDL Class A is required to perform duties.
- Drives truck to destination.
- Inspects trucks for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor.
- Must be able to drop and spot trailers on finished goods lot.
- Must be able to back trailers in and out of receiving docks as well as service bays in said department.
- Fuel trailers, as necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:
- Accuracy of receipts
- Accuracy of shipments
- Accuracy of paperwork
- Timely submission of required receivers
- Safe CDL Driving Record
- Trip reports completed in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use all material handling equipment, forklift certification required.
- CDL A License
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a continuous basis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize workload.
- Ability to work effectively with peers, management, and subordinates.
- Computer literate
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED

- Responsible for consistently maintaining safe quality food products by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring visitors, contractors and customers are documented on each visit in and out of the facility to maintain good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense/food security and HACCP controls.
- Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
- Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
