SHIFT: M-F, 6 am-2:30 pm (OT - Days outside of normal hours and on Sat as needed)
Essential Job Duties:
- Be a champion of safety for yourself, team members, and truck drivers delivering steel. Follow all safety procedures when carrying out all duties, including but not limited to loading, unloading, and moving steel within the steel warehouse and within the plant.
- Receives steel using computer system.
- Verifies quantities/weight of incoming steel.
- Inspects/measure steel upon receipt to verify quality and dimensions
- Maintains steel inventory accuracy through system transactions.
- Weighs up material, performs WIP receipts, and puts materials in proper areas.
- Coordinates pick up and placement of scrap containers.
- Supports daily cleanup/of steel warehouse and press department.
- Participates in continuous improvement projects for the job.
- Other duties as assigned
Core physical requirements: Sitting, Standing, Walking, Using both hands/fingers (Frequent), Climbing, Reaching, Twisting, Bending, Kneeling (Infrequent); Lifting requirement 50lbs w/out assistance. Environment: Plant - Not Climate Controlled (Primary); Office - Climate Controlled (Secondary).
Qualifications:
A. Education and training:
High school diploma or equivalent
- Overhead crane experience (needed and verifiable)
- Three (3) years minimum working in a manufacturing or warehousing environment.
- Three (3) years of material handling experience. Must be forklift certified
- One (1) year of overhead crane experience, preferred but willing to train
- Basic computer skills – able to enter data into a computer
- Steel handling, with forklift required
- Good clerical skills
- Excellent attendance record
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, technology)
- Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently while working as part of a larger team.
- Excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement drive.

Compensation: $18.50 - $21 based on experience Pre-Hire: Background checks, Drug screen
