Job Description

Title:Material Handler II

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Schedule: Day Shift/ Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4:30PM (8hrs, 5 days)

Pay: $19+/hr

Summary: Participate on a high-performance work team in a fast-paced environment that is responsible for all material handling activities including inbound and outbound to internal Value Streams. Also, has responsibility for inventory accuracy and material preservation.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for ensuring Value Streams have all necessary materials kitted and accounted for 2 days prior to going on press so jobs can be completed by the due date or information is communicated to the Lead, Advisor or Value Stream Manager on missing materials before they are needed. (40%)
• Responsible for returning and restocking materials accurately in Epicor and the warehouse. (40%)
  • Returning materials off of jobs into the correct binned locations.
• Perform material cycle counts and assist with any inventory discrepancy issues to ensure accurate inventories. (20%)
• Assists with helping teach and train new associates. (As needed)
• Learn and assist in covering the shipping and receiving areas of the warehouse team. (As needed)

Accountabilities:

• Accountable for maintaining a clean and safe work environment that matches the requirements for position.
• Accountable for meeting quarterly attendance goals
• Achieve product and service quality goals.
• Accountable for on-time delivery to promise and want date. (Goal is 95%)
• Accountable to implement improvements to current and new production runs or kitting processes with supporting documentation.
• Accountable for accurate documentation audits with no findings.
• Accountable to achieve goal for profit contribution dollars.
• Accountable for completing personal learning and development goals.
• Accountable to achieve goal for inventory accuracy measured by CFO audits. (Goal is 98%)
• Accountable for attaining the goal of no more than 4 hours indirect time per week.
• Accountable for ensuring the warehouse and all of the equipment needed for the job is in working order utilizing the maintenance repair portal when necessary.
• Accountable to learn the basic functions of the shipping and receiving areas according to work instructions.
• Accountable for being ready and willing to help teach and train new associates in the day-to-day work functions.

Training/Education/Experience:

• High School education or equivalent.
• Previous experience with shipping/receiving, picking packing and data entry in a warehouse environment a plus.
• Experience with roll stock preferred.
• Previous inventory control experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Forklift driving experience required; current certification a plus, box truck driving experience a plus
• Proficient PC skills, Microsoft office, word, excel, outlook.

• Historical success with being extremely organized, the ability to multi-task, continually change direction and priorities to meet the needs of work groups.
• Proven success of accurately and efficiently performing data entry, recognizing errors and escalating inaccurate information.
