Material Handler - Forklift Operator

SUMMARY:

Staging and tracking of materials for jobs and storing inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Accurately fills out inventory count sheets.
• Pulls and stages raw materials for jobs and correctly fills out material sheets.
• Returns raw materials to its dedicated area.
• Unloads material trucks upon arrival.
• Puts away newly received stock and rotates on a FIFO basis.
• Ensures that the material is neat and orderly.
• Supports the Press Operators by having their needed materials in a timely manner.
• Replace gaylords as needed.
• Empties trash dumpsters as needed.
• Transports supplies between departments as needed.
• Assists with loading of trucks as needed.
• Any other duties determined by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Prefer high school education or GED. Must be able to perform all essential duties.

LANGUAGE:

Must be able to read, speak, and comprehend English.

OTHER SKILLS:

Must be able to use a calculator and understand concepts of basic math. Must be familiar with basic small tools, including pallet jacks and fork trucks. Computer experience may be required.

REQUIRED TRAINING DOCUMENTS:

Fork Truck and Stand Up Truck Certifications are required. This is performed in house.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to push, pull, kneel, reach, sit, hear, walk and see. Standing may be required for long periods of time. Must be able to see fine detailing in finished product. Must be able to lift up to 65# on a frequent basis.
