Job Description: Material Handler

Job Summary:
As a Material Handler, you will be a vital part of operations, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and supplies within our facility. Your role will involve safe handling, storage, and distribution of materials, contributing to the efficiency and success of our production processes.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently move materials, components, and supplies within the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and assist in conducting regular inventory counts to ensure adequate supplies.
- Load and unlock trucks and delivery vehicles, verifying the accuracy of shipments and inspecting materials for damage.
- Store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper organizing, labeling and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Deliver materials and supplies to production areas or workstations as needed following a schedule or requests.
Essential Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in material handling or a related role in an industrial setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain orderly storage areas and accurate inventory records.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and relay information regarding material movements.
Safety & Environmental Factors:
All employees are expected to adhere to the company’s safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
