Form of workPosition Summary:
Responsible for safely and accurately verifying, securing, and loading outbound product, using powered industrial equipment; and maintain product integrity and efficient material handling
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Essential Functions:
- Ensure pedestrian safety by maintaining a safe rate of speed in all areas while operating equipment.
- Ensure product is properly boxed, secured, and/or palletized for shipment.
- Properly label, wrap, strap, and weigh pallets prior to loading.
- Identifies, counts incoming parts/components, and checks for required paperwork.
- Complete required documentation for receiving and issuing of product
- Performs inventory audits on a regular basis to detect discrepancies, as requested.
- Provide individual and team support to department members and internal customers
- Utilize computer system to maintain transactions and communicate with other employees
- Ability to operate powered hand-jacks and lift trucks in tight spaces
- Complete required documentation for receiving and issuing of product
- Perform random cycle counts in order to maintain inventory integrity.
- Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed.
- Provide individual and team support to internal customers in line with the Tugger route response
- Pick up product using ready signals and ensure safe transportation and delivery
- Perform (hourly) collection/delivery via bus stop route with minimal supervision
- Ensure WIP levels are kept to a minimum every hour
- Respond to Kanban signals
- Utilize PLEX system for transactions
- Perform routine housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as required or directed.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to use time management and self-prioritization skills.
- Independent worker, excellent organization skills, reliable and dependable
- Requires schedule flexibility to meet customer needs including working overtime with minimal advance notice to support divisional shipping needs; occasional weekend coverage required

- Prioritization of multiple projects to meet operational goals
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues with tact and diplomacy

- Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 lbs. without assistance and occasionally up to 50 lbs. following company safe lifting protocol
- Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to work in an environment with powdered metal, dust, noise, oils and chemicals
