The Material and Applications Specialists (MAS) help our customers with questions about GOLDEN Acrylics, Williamsburg Oils, QoR Watercolors, PanPastels, Sofft Tools, and GOLDEN Paintworks’ Mural, Decorative, and Theme products and their applications through phone calls, Zoom, emails, and other communications platforms.
The MAS team tests products, conducts research, writes and edits technical documents, and other forms of knowledge base entries. They have a strong connection to product development and the lab as well as marketing. The MAS team is also responsible for conducting information sessions about the products through workshops, demonstrations, webinars, social media live events, consultations, trainings, videos, etc.
Our Materials and Applications Specialists are expected to be curious, problem-solving, team players who communicate well and can explain complicated visual ideas through writing and discussion.
The MAS works in a collaborative studio/lab environment with shared responsibilities at our rural factory site in upstate NY.

Education: Bachelor of Fine Art or BA in the Sciences or similar discipline - required. MFA in painting - preferred.
A successful candidate must be able to work on several projects at once, be service oriented, a team-player, self-motivated, an excellent listener, and have a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

We are seeking an artist who has a deep love of art materials and an inquiring approach to them. The ideal candidate will be an artist practicing at the professional level with experience teaching fine art painting and/or materials classes. They must also demonstrate a working knowledge of acrylics, oils, watercolor, and dry media including pastel in a fine art context.
Experience with Microsoft Office is necessary. Experience with CRM tools and software is a plus.
Experience in business environments, customer service, or working with customers directly or indirectly in a service or problem-solving capacity is beneficial.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, sitting, and working at bench
- Frequent computer work
- Ability to lift/move drywall sheets (approx. 50 lbs) and other items approaching 50 lbs.
