Job Summary
Summary:
Utilizes proper body mechanics to assist patients in and out of the bed and/or chair. Provides support while walking patients for a designated period of time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Walks with patients based on physician’s orders.
- Applies body mechanics, transfer techniques, and use of assistive devices as needed to assist a patient walk in the facility for a designated period based on the clinical care plan.
- Adhere to daily schedule for patient ambulation.
- Adhere to safety protocols when patient has been identified by medical personnel as a fall risk.
- Completes any required documentation regarding ambulation for patient’s medical records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
