Marketing Writer (Data Journalist)

What You'll Do

We are seeking a talented and analytical Data Journalist to join our copywriting team. As a Data Journalist at BambooHR, you'll play a crucial role in developing narratives and stories that resonate with the media and other external audiences using our significant and robust dataset. Reporting to the Copywriting Team Lead, this position is an exciting opportunity to build on BambooHR's new data reporting function and tell stories that have already proven interesting and resonant with top-tier HR media and other audiences and stakeholders.

You will:

• Craft engaging and data-driven narratives that highlight key findings and resonate with the media for PR outreach.
• Build on our Employee Happiness Index and Workforce Insights reports to produce insightful reports, articles, and visual content that communicate complex data in an accessible manner.
• Continue to refine BambooHR's data journalism by identifying additional areas of growth and use of our product data for storytelling.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in HR and workplace dynamics.
• Conduct research and identify meaningful patterns, correlations, and outliers to uncover newsworthy stories within the internal data.
• Analyze large datasets related to workplace dynamics, employee behavior, and employer trends and
• Work closely with the Communications team to produce reports and identify storylines to be presented at various events, such as our annual HR Virtual Summit and Customer Day.
• Collaborate with internal HR experts and product teams to gather insights and analyze trends in product data.
• Present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and compellingly.
• Build ‌report webpages to showcase our data stories in a visually appealing and compelling way.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

• 3–5 years of applicable media/marketing/content writing experience, with proven abilities in data analysis, interpretation, and storytelling
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in data journalism, journalism, statistics, data science, or a related field
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to diverse audiences
• An interest in workplace and business media and what stories and ideas resonate
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• You're located in one of these states: Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Georgia, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia
