Assistant Grant Writer

Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Grant Writer who is committed to make a significant impact on our school's growth. We have several job openings, many of which could be done by the same person. Please check out our other job postings.

This is a part-time position with flexible hours. The bulk of these duties are currently being done by the lead teacher, and more hours will be added to the assistant as funding flows in, removing the workload off the lead teacher and onto the Grant Writer.

Pay Rate:

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 5+ hours per week

Pay Rate: $11 - $15.00 per hour

The pay rate is determined by the extent to which the employee can execute the job description independently, after basic provided training, without requiring guidance beyond basic training.

Schedule:

  • Starting Aug 2024 at the latest– 5+ hours per week - can be remote, and done on your own timing

Key Responsibilities:

As a Grant Writer, your role involves several key responsibilities to effectively secure funding for our school:

  • Grant Application Management: Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including identifying relevant funding opportunities from a provided list, researching grant requirements, gathering necessary documentation, and adhering to application deadlines. Submit grant applications using a provided grant template, consulting with board members and professional Grant Writer as needed. Keep track of all submitted applications and follow up with funding agencies as needed.
  • Collaboration with Professional Grant Writer: Work closely with our school’s professional Grant Writer, to leverage their expertise in crafting compelling grant proposals. This collaboration can involve brainstorming ideas, refining project goals and objectives, and reviewing and revising draft proposals to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Reviewing Grant Applications with Board Members: Present grant applications to the school board for review and approval.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: If grants are successfully awarded, ensure that grant funds are used in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the grant agreement. Develop a system for monitoring project progress, tracking expenditures, and preparing regular reports for funding agencies and board members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of grant writing efforts and seek feedback from board members to identify areas for improvement. Stay updated on best practices in grant writing and fundraising strategies to enhance your ability to secure funding for the school.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 16+ years old.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and creativity.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to promoting the school's mission and values through grant writing efforts.
  • Responsible, Reliable, Excellent at Follow Up
  • Close attention to details in words, scheduling, and fulfilling deadlines.
  • Lifelong learner: Continually using opportunities for education in grant writing skills.

Preferred:

  • 21+ years old.
  • Education: College degree in fields related to grant writing.
  • Experience: Grant Writing 1+ years
