We design, build, operate, and sell stratospheric balloon systems, and the data we collect supports a wide range of applications, from real-time wildfire monitoring to urban mapping. Urban Sky sends flight vehicles to the stratosphere on a weekly basis.

About The Role: 
The Urban Sky team is developing a Graphic Design and Marketing focused internship that will provide hands-on experience working on a variety of projects and seeking a creative and hardworking individual to support our dynamic team. This intern will contribute fresh ideas towards brand creation, deliver unique graphic design and generate social media content to support our brand.
Responsibilities:

• As the graphic design/Marketing Intern, you will be working under the guidance of our CEO and use your design expertise to contribute to a wide variety of project type
• Provide concept design and strategic project visioning
• Design visually compelling graphics, including illustrations, website designs, presentation, templates, business collateral, one-sheets, and more
• Help maintain and update the company's visual assets, ensuring consistent branding across all channels
• Contribute to the creation/management of social media content, including, but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, capturing photo & video content, and light editing of videos & graphics
• Assist with the creation and publishing of social media posts and content planning
• Ability to create marketing blasts via email, social media, etc. that contribute to marketing campaigns that further the company’s strategic goals

Qualifications:

• You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Art, Graphic Design, Marketing or relevant program
• You have completed your third year of undergraduate program or first year of graduate program and are returning to your program post-internship
• You submit an online portfolio the demonstrates a strong grasp of graphic design fundamentals, marketing strategies and social media experiences
• Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
• Resourceful, self-motivated, enthusiastic team player
• Curiosity to learn and develop new skills, propose innovative solutions, and a willingness to experiment

Skills & Experience: 

• Creatively motivated and able to work independently and intuitively with general instruction
• Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) 
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic professional setting with changing needs and requirements 

Benefits: 
This is a fulltime, paid internship position starting at $20 -$28/hour and starts late Spring/Summer 2024 and will end around September 1st

• Preference given to local candidates, but if non-local, a summer housing stipend will be considered
• Cell Phone Bill Stipend
