Under the direction of the Brand & Marketing Director, the Marketing Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the organization’s marketing, creative services, and public relations efforts through outlined strategies, tactics, and perspectives. The Marketing Coordinator is a creative individual who uses their imagination and experience to create a wide range of materials for marketing efforts, including visual images, videos, and written content. The Marketing Coordinator is an organized multitasker, able to handle many diverse projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. They have experience managing social media channels and are proficient in best practices in this space. 

This full-time, exempt position in Portland, Oregon. The Marketing Coordinator will occasionally travel between Portland and Seattle to support the organization. The MC must be able to travel between GCB locations.

Job Summary 

  • Triage company requests that come in via the GCB Info email account.   

  • Maintain the brand and marketing calendar under direction of the Brand & Marketing Director, including all of the key marketing initiatives, social media campaigns, and events.   

  • Maintain and update company website content and other digital assets, keeping the look and feel of the content current and fresh. Write and post announcements on home page of temporary closures and new operating hours, curating selection of blog posts featured on home page, changing outdated photography, updating prices and product information. Review and change photo content on website or other assets based on employee changes, menu changes, brand priorities and keeping look and feel current and fresh.  

  • Curate and maintain photography repository, recommending and sharing appropriate images for marketing initiatives.  

  • Manage company social media accounts through campaign creation, scheduling, and monitoring. Utilize campaign management software to launch, monitor, and analyze the effectiveness of social media. Make budget recommendations, monitor budget, and evaluate ROI on expenditures.  

  • Interact with social media audiences to increase brand awareness and engagement. Monitor social medial channels daily for comments that might reflect poorly on brand and escalate to appropriate personnel.  

  • Create and curate all images and videos for website, emails, and social media use on Instagram, Facebook, Instagram Reels, and TikTok    

  • Using LightBox and DSLR camera, take photos of products for wholesale and retail use, e.g., online ordering site or Instacart.  

  • Write copy for Chalkboard News, and for some internal and external communications including website and press releases.  

  • Work with third-party designers to create branded images for POS screens that reflect messaging priorities and seasonal content.  

  • Coordinate annual fundraisers by collecting information, writing copy, and obtaining photos and videos for publication.  

  • Maintain tracking for BCorporation certification including non-GMO, Good Food 100, and donations.  

Qualifications 

  • 2 or more years' work experience in digital marketing, social media management, and/or creative agencies 

  • Fluent in Microsoft Suite, Canva, Photoshop, or Microsoft Designer 

  • Intermediate computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, or comparable programs required 

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills 

  • Organized multitasker, able to handle many diverse projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. 

  • Structured, proactive, and efficient 

  • Photography experience preferred 

  • Video editing experience preferred 

Compensation 

  • $65,000 annual equivalent
