Marketing Assistant

VSE is searching for a passionate Marketing Assistant with a heavy focus on email and SMS marketing. If you are enthusiastic and driven to help in the development of marketing strategies and campaigns, this position might be the perfect fit. 

If you're our new Marketing Assistant, you will look forward to engaging in activities such as: 

• Creative Brief Development and Coordination:  Develop creative briefs for promotional programs and facilitate weekly meetings to provide relevant information to Marketing, Design, and other departments.
• Campaign Execution:  Execute direct marketing, email and SMS campaigns, customer communications, promotions, and other marketing plans targeting our existing customer base.
• Promotions Calendar Management:  Assist in creating a monthly promotions calendar and coordinate project schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and communications to affected departments.
• Performance Analysis:  Track monthly promotional campaigns and prepare performance analyses, offering recommendations for refinement or new programs to engage our customer base.
• Email Campaign Management: 
  • Create and schedule email and SMS campaigns.
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure availability of images, design templates, and copy for each campaign.
  • Route email and SMS creative for approval, make necessary changes, and schedule deployments.
  • Communicate promotions and key content information to Customer Service and other relevant departments.
• Communication Process:  Establish a communication process to address questions and concerns that may arise.
• Additional Support: 
  • Assist with copywriting, proofreading, and content initiatives as needed.
  • Communicate promotions and campaigns across various areas of the business.

Your journey up to this point will likely have included:

• 2-3 years of entry-level experience working on email, SMS, and promotional direct response campaigns, including building creative briefs and trafficking campaign development.
• Knowledge of Dotdigital email and SMS service provider or similar email/SMS marketing tools.
• Familiarity with key metrics used to analyze the performance of campaigns.
• Detail-oriented and organized team player.
• Interest in process development and creative problem-solving.
• Enthusiastic about skill development and continuous learning.

Salary Range:  $60,000 - $75,000 per annum, depending on experience and expertise. This figure represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the potential salary for this role. Salary and whole compensation package to be determined by the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. We may offer a salary outside this range to an exceptional candidate.
