Marketing and Business Development Assistant
Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost LLP, an education law firm, has an immediate opening for a Marketing and Business Development Assistant in our Los Angeles Office.
A member of the F3 Marketing and Business Development (MBD) Department, the Marketing and Business Development Assistant provides support for a wide range of activities, including events, sponsorships, research, proposal preparation, and updating content. At all times, the Assistant should demonstrate enthusiasm for marketing, a commitment to providing excellent service to the firm's attorneys and staff, serve as a role model, and contribute to an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Marketing and Business Development Assistant will work closely with the firm's MBD team and attorneys across the firm. The role will assist with event coordination and on-site support; the preparation and production of proposals; coordination of e-communications and marketing collateral; research; and other administrative support to the firm’s Business Development efforts.
The Assistant is expected to demonstrate initiative, ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments, and support MBD initiatives that align with the firm's strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Assist with the coordination of event logistics and provide on-site support at sponsored and firm-hosted events, including post-event follow up
  • Assist with the preparation of Business Development presentations, reports and new business RFPs and proposals, including tracking proposals and RFPs
  • Assist with updating website and other marketing content
  • Assist with researching and managing firm contacts
  • Assist with research initiatives to obtain business from new and existing clients
  • Assist in the production of communications including client alerts and collateral material
  • Handle various administrative functions, such as processing invoices, preparing event shipments

  • Strong capacity to be responsible, flexible, accountable, and detail-oriented
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to be resourceful is desired
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands with night and weekend availability
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience with at least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Experience in a professional services firm preferred
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and execute on instructions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload, stay organized, work independently and as a member of teams, and complete tasks under time pressure as necessary
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not supervise any positions.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
Sustain prolonged periods stationary at a desk while working on a computer. The incumbent needs to frequently move about inside the office and during conferences and events. Constantly operate phones, computers, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Frequently move files, boxes, and other office products of various sizes weighing up to 50 pounds; ascend and descend stairs and take elevators between multiple floors. The employee is frequently required to discern, convey and exchange ideas and information with other employees and vendors.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work is required with workload demands.
Travel
Travel to event locations is expected for this position.
