Description

The Marketing Analyst has strong analytic abilities, understanding of database structures and methods of data extraction, analysis, and reporting. Using data to develop meaningful marketing and customer insights to inform management is pertinent to this role. This position involves an understanding of general marketing principles and the ability to share insights, analyses, and recommendations with marketing campaign managers and decision makers to inform implementation of marketing strategies and customer communications. This role further supports campaign planning, name selection, and testing for catalog, direct mail, outbound telemarketing, and media placement campaigns that supports customer relationship growth.

  • Understand data and data structures and possess ability to effectively mine various large databases for relevant information.
  • Understand how to compile, analyze, and summarize data into meaningful and actionable insights to inform management of the effectiveness of marketing initiatives in improving customers’ relationships through acquisition, retention, experience, and loyalty.
  • Assist in the planning, creation, implementation, and execution of effective acquisition and retention marketing initiatives through catalog, direct mail, outbound telemarketing, and media placements.
  • Collaborate with strategic business unit directors to develop testing and promotional strategies that meet the company’s marketing initiatives and goals.
  • Through testing and controlled experimentation, develop and recommend new marketing initiatives that increase profitability and acquire or retain customers more efficiently and effectively.
  • Design, propose, implement, and analyze testing initiatives and marketing campaigns, and, provide timely insight and reporting to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure accurate execution of all marketing campaigns and tests.
  • Help build customer profiling, segmentation analysis, data analysis, testing analysis and data mining, external data enhancement, and lifetime value analysis.
  • Develop campaign segmentations using predictive modeling, RFM, product-targeted, and other methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to develop a 360-degree perspective of the customer and work with marketing managers to incorporate a holistic view of the customer into marketing initiatives enabling optimization of marketing spend.
  • Provide marketing spend optimization recommendations based on attributed sales data.
  • Create, refine, and optimize routine management-level reporting.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting, insights, and recommendations to management as required
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, be detail and result-oriented, maintain a high level of accuracy and integrity, and have excellent time management skills.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

 


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or related experience. MBA strongly desired.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in analytics, marketing, data science, or related field. Direct to consumer experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, data science, analytics, reporting, and presentation for resolving business problems required.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in SAS programming code and SAS tools including Enterprise Guide.
  • Familiarity with SAS programming, including SAS statistical procedures, SQL, and experience connecting via UNIX/Windows to Netezza, SQLSRVR, Oracle, and DB2 preferred. Experience with Snowflake Databases a plus.
  • Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and marketing analysis reports.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
