THE POSITION
The Washington County Juvenile Services Department is seeking a full-time Research and Evaluation Analyst. This position will provide critical data support, reporting, and Evaluation to the Juvenile Services Department. The Juvenile Services Department is responsible for the supervision of high-risk youth in the community, including youth on probation and being diverted from the court system. Staff are responsible for maintaining court-ordered condition to protect public safety and work to restore victims. The Juvenile Services Department has core values of teamwork, excellence and integrity, and is guided by our 5 Drivers: assessing and responding to risk and needs, engaging clients, engaging the communities of our clients, using data to guide decision-making, and staff development.

  • experienced in evidence-based interventions with youth.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
The Research and Evaluation Analystwill be a part of the Juvenile Services Department Leadership Team. This role will provide data and reports that help illuminate trends and issues, conduct program evaluation, present findings, and write and report on grants and other funding opportunities, and research evidence-based best practice trends.
The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of public safety, strong analytic skills, strong presentation skills, and an understanding of grant funding mechanisms.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
  • A Master's Degree in juvenile/criminal justice, social work, psychology, social sciences, or criminal justice applied research-related discipline.
  • Five (5) years of pertinent professional research experience which must include responsibility for the determination of research design and method for a complete research project.

  • This position requires the completion of a background check post offer.

Selection Process:

Management, Administrative and Professional Personnel System (MAPPS) - FLSA exempt employees are paid on a salaried basis. The premise of salaried/exempt employment is that established compensation recognizes the time and effort needed to accomplish all assigned job duties. Job responsibilities may require work outside of the employee's standard work week or a work week in excess of 40 hours.

Regular and limited duration full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week and job share employees are eligible for benefits beginning on the first of the month following employment.
