JOB SUMMARY
Great opportunity for organized, experienced, self-motivated Marine Watermaker Technician with diagnostic and problem-solving skills to install and maintain Watermakers or Reverse Osmosis Desalination systems and related systems to ensure that they function properly and safely. * Should work efficiently to solve problems and make necessary repairs and be an independent yet collaborative worker as well as physically strong. * Communicate professionally and courteously with the client and relay information verbally and in writing to the manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain and repair Watermakers, Reverse Osmosis and ancillary equipment and be trained on new models and upgrades.
- Diagnose equipment performance problems and work to resolve any issues and educate clients on proper operation and maintenance of equipment
- Coordinate with Manager and client to assess job, plan service & materials needed, keep detailed notes and prepare service invoice.
- Repair/replace components such as pumps, motors, membranes and filters, etc as well as measure/modify/cut tubing & hosing needed for jobs.
- Maintain tools and help monitor inventory parts for job and in work van . Be able to lift heavy weights up go up and down stairs as well as work in the heat
- Follow marina and repair yard regulations regarding safety, parking, etc. and maintain client privacy with personal records and jobs details
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Vocational certification or associate’s degree preferred
- 4+ years’ relevant marine trade experience
- Experience reading manuals and technical descriptions
- Proficiency using tools, above materials, and equipment
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical and piping systems
- Able to work after hours to complete jobs or for emergencies
- Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Infrequently travel out of state or overseas.
- Excellent English, math and computer skills
