Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Marine Regulatory AffairsManager tojoin ourMarine team inKennesaw, GA.The Marine Regulatory Affairs Manager will be responsible to negotiate with U.S. agencies on future emission and related regulations on behalf of the company in conjunction with Marine industry stakeholders. Coordinate activities with U.S. and industry trade and related organizations. Build relationships to facilitate smooth information flow inside the technical community, thereby improving the efficiency of the product development process.

What you'll be doing:

  • Interact directly with regulators and lawmakers when appropriate and with the guidance of Yamaha's management and when possible, in coordination with NMMA.
  • Develop strong relationships with the National Marine Manufacturers Association and influence its efforts and actions as the industry moves toward future emission and related regulations for marine outboards.
  • Become the primary Yamaha representative for industry organizations that set standards for boats and marine equipment, such as the American Boat and Yacht Council
  • Develop strong relationships with organizations that set standards and make recommendations for future regulation, such as ICOMIA, the International Council of Marine Industry Associations and IMEC, the International Marine Engine Committee, and SAE, the Society of Automotive Engineers.
  • Communicate to assure complete understanding of regulatory trends and activities across U.S. operations, product development community and with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Interact with and advise product development teams in U.S. and other countries.
  • Coordinate regulatory activities with those of the larger external affairs team, including communication, government relations and sustainability.
  • Work with the sustainability manager and team to co-manage sustainability initiatives that intersect regulation.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, technical or engineering discipline
  • Previous experience with automotive emission or marine emission compliance.
  • Keen understanding of electric as well as internal combustion powerplants.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Effective leadership skills to influence and guide internal and external stakeholders.
  • Affinity for outdoor activities, particularly boating and recreational fishing.
