The General Manager (GM) position creates legendary experiences for guests through the overall leadership, development and engagement of all quick service restaurant team members and shift managers. The GM is responsible for the quick service restaurant’s financial health, profitability and success. RESPONSIBILITIES • Manages the overall operation of the restaurant • Provides support to overall team, coaches team member and shift manager behaviors and is hands-on with all stations • Interviews, hires, onboards, trains, develops and retains shift managers and team members • Diligently follows and enforces food and general safety requirements and models behavior that protects them and others • Oversees all restaurant training initiatives and ensures proper execution of training programs, inclusive of the Wing Certified Trainer (WCT) selection and program execution • Responsible for achieving all monthly and annual AOP targets • Complete, review and analyze overall inventory while also completing weekly food and product orders from approved vendors • Conducts pre and post shift meetings • Responsible for timely resolution of all guest complaints • Generates sales forecasts and creates efficient weekly labor schedules for restaurant team in line with labor standards • Resolves team members’ and shift managers’ complaints or concerns • Counsels, disciplines and terminates team members and shift managers as needed • Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws • Responsible for all zone rollouts/activations and introductions of new products, tools and services • Develops and executes Local Restaurant Marketing (LRM) sales building plans in partnership with Field Marketing (FMAs and/or FMMs). Oversees all community connection and fundraising activities as approved by District Manager • Completes all manager tools and administrative duties on time and with integrity • Manages the balance of labor hours and service efficiency to meet labor guidelines without sacrificing guest service • Conducts reviews and performance evaluations for all direct reports • Stays current on all federal, state, local and company required training and certifications • Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS • General knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, safety and security systems and procedures and computer operations • Strong people management and communication and interpersonal skills • Superior guest service and hospitality skills • Skill in time management and organization with attention to detail • Self-motivated and a passion for teaching others • Ability to read and comprehend written materials, and perform basic to intermediate mathematical computations • Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required • Minimum 21 years of age • High school diploma or equivalent • Certified in any state, county or local food handling requirements Preferred • Four years of restaurant, quick service restaurant experience or Buffalo Wild Wings management experience • Previous restaurant or quick service restaurant General Manager experience • Bachelor’s Degree • Coursework in restaurant management PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position requires frequent standing, sitting, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching and lifting in a restaurant environment.
