What is the job like? As the Manufactuing Technician , you will assemble, test and trouble shoot intrinsically safe data acquisition systems, industrial control and monitor panels, consoles, cables, and HMI’s. Key tasks include trouble shooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions on electro-mechanical product/equipment when needed. Weekend, full time position at our Cedar Park TX facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
- Mount assembly components on panels or printed circuit boards and connect component leads/wires to printed circuits or routes and connect wires between individual components leads and other components using advanced soldering and crimping skills.
- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
- Perform continuity tests on completed assemblies.
- Perform the assembly, start up, configure, and functional test of equipment systems.
- Troubleshoot and calibrate systems, make necessary repairs and any corrections to system.
- Install, configure, and verify software, applications, and images on industrial computers and PLC’s.
- Collaborate and effectively communicate with coworkers and engineers to quickly resolve problems related to products and procedures.
- Resolves most problems and refers only more complex issues to higher levels.
- Analyze and effectively evaluate test data against established pass/fail criteria.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Associates degree in Electronics Technology, Trade School Certification, or equivalent military / relevant experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience building and wiring control panels or similar devices using manufacturing assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and or schematics.
- Electrical soldering and wiring skills.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of test equipment including but not limited to, bench power supplies, hand-held meters, etc.
- Demonstrable working experience with all types of hand tools such as: torque wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, wire strippers, and crimping tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
Preferred:
- J-STD-001A Certified.
- Experience and working knowledge of PLC’s.
- Experience assembling, wiring, and testing industrial control panels and systems.
- Experience with ERP / MRP systems (Oracle, JDE) work orders and travelers
- Experience with installing or restoring computer images.
- Experience configuring and testing network routers.
- Experience or working knowledge of Power Over Ethernet technology and devices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and reach particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Able to operate a computer and other office machinery using finger dexterity for typing and writing.
- Must be able to communicate, converse with, and exchange information by means of the spoken and written word.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs to shoulder height.
- Able to perform light physical effort to lift or move materials up to 40 pounds.
- Visual acuity to view a computer screen.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
- Standing 75% of the time
- Available to work overtime as required.
- Works under immediate supervision
- Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.

We specialize in small part machining, fabrication, and electro-mechanical assembly and are adept at manufacturing for hazardous area applications holding numerous certifications across a variety of products. Our plant has high demand and is operating 24/7 to produce these products for our customers. To meet the demand for our products, we provide employees with an air-conditioned environment, highly organized and clean manufacturing facility and have a strong safety program designed to ensure our team goes home safe to their families after every shift.
