Job Description
- This family manages production assembly, test operations, and manufacturing engineering, ensuring schedule compliance, high quality, and the meeting of cost objectives
- Responsible for ensuring that the product assembly in the manufacturing area meets all of the design requirements in an efficient and timely manner
- Supervises the assembly and test of PCBs, plasma panels, cable assemblies, chassis, and wirewrap
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- Exercises independent judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Contributes to the development of the organization's goals and objectives
- Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause substantial delays in schedules
- Regularly interacts with outside customers and functional peer groups
- Interaction normally requires the ability to gain the cooperation of others by conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules
- Provides focus to subordinates directed by established policies and procedures
- Interprets, implements, and administers policies that typically affect individual employees of a sub-unit
- Provides administrative supervision
- Has the knowledge and experience to be able to handle usual and seldom occurring job events with minimal assistance
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing supervisor experience
- Forklift driver certification
- Secret clearance
- Possess lean manufacturing and/or 5S skills to plan, direct and coordinate staff to meet aggressive production schedules of handheld product lines supporting EOD, customs/border, and military customers
- Able to utilize safety knowledge to implement safety procedures and contribute to facility achievement of ISO 9001 certification
- Manage production schedule to meet deliveries communicated by the program manager and customer
- Electro-mechanical test/troubleshooting experience
- Must possess a sense of urgency, strong leadership skills, and an attitude aligned with excellent customer service
- Work alongside materials, logistics, and quality to ensure orders are met within schedule, design requirements, and quality standards
- Maintain a culture of excellent customer service through honest and proactive direct communication with end-user customers across EOD, military and customs/border industry, and program management
