TPI Transportation also provides a full range of services that can complement our customers' extensive vehicle engineering capability.TPI maintains fully accredited materials test laboratories in the USA and China to support material characterization, process optimization, and ensure production quality and traceability.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and accomplished manufacturing quality professional to support the site through a period of exciting growth in our automotive products manufacturing operation division.The Quality Manager plans and directs quality management activities for the Rhode Island manufacturing site, focusing on production and product quality and quality management systems implementation and management.
Supervises quality control and quality engineering staff in the implementation of TPI's quality policy, procedures, and plans.Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Leads quality control, quality engineering, and quality systems activities through a broad-based understanding of business management.* Establishes quality plans and directs activities of assigned staff.* Supervises Quality Department personnel.* Serves as primary contact for customer issues.* Owns the following processes:* Internal audits (QM should be a trained lead auditor)* Customer Feedback* Monitor and Measure (Quality related)* CAPA and Nonconforming Material (MRB)* ISO certification and maintenance* Trains team members on quality related subjects, procedures, work instructions.* Provides input for yearly budgets for quality.* Writes team member annual performance reviews.* Coordinates quality related matters with other departments, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement in the process.Who we're looking for:* B.S. degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, industrial), and at least 5 years of manufacturing management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Previous automotive manufacturing quality experience.* Formal training in the field of quality (ISO, TQM, IATF, Auditing) and business management.* Computer proficiency including MS Office, and Minitab.* Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC).* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.* Knowledge of metrology (calibration) systems.* Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, with people at all levels.* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles* IATF or TS lead auditor experience preferred.LocationThis position is on site at our automotive composites manufacturing site in Warren, Rhode Island.Our Mission is to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to decarbonize and electrify the world by expanding the adoption of renewable energy.
