Summary
We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Senior Systems Analyst. This role formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form or desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debug and document those programs. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. May be responsible for leading the completion of a phase or activity in a large project or leading a small to medium project (< 300 hours). Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analyst/programmers. May have duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of other applications systems analysis and programming personnel. May have quality assurance review responsibilities or systems testing leadership responsibilities. Provides input on the evaluation of other associates.
This is a remote position. Working Eastern time zone work hours is required.
Travel: Up to 10% local travel at Manager Discretion
Requires on-call time for non-scheduled work hours and weekends (rotating schedule every five weeks)
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads project activities to include customer communications, project administration, disposition of resources and reporting. Identifies, surfaces and resolves project issues.
- Functions as a project leader for small to medium projects, promotes associate growth, productivity and continuous improvement through teamwork and coordination of team efforts.
- Supports actively the Team Management and Quality Improvement Process through demonstrated commitment of its concepts and tools (teambuilding, zero defects, measurement, goal setting, process models, etc.).
- Stays current in technology by attaining knowledge of Manufacturing Systems technologies, Systems Development Methodology and Project Management tool expertise.
- Proactively uses Manufacturing Systems technology for productivity improvements.
- Continuous improvement in knowledge of the poultry industry via poultry technology courses.
- Completes effectively all phases of project development per the Company Systems Development Methodology (SDM).
Minimum Education and Experience
Required: BS degree or equivalent related experience in Information Systems or Computer Science plus 6 years related work experience.
- Requires knowledge in computer analysis, programming and systems development methodology.
- Must possess strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
- Demonstrates a progression in the systems development field from programming through project management.
- Must be able to travel, possibly overnight, to any customer area, which could be any Company facility or to a remote site for disaster recovery or training or to a training facility or conference.
- Must provide off-hour support and may need to come to the Main office if cannot be resolved by phone.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Positions at ASC and Corporate are mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings, or support in facilities when they are deployed to a site. Positions in plants involve moving throughout the plants, feedmills, hatcheries and other facilities as needed to deploy, monitor, and support manufacturing systems equipment.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
- When in a plant environment:
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
