Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will join our leadership by developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining manufacturing processes on assigned production lines. This position will support the achievement of team goals for safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity, while promoting a culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determine the layout, labor and work balance of mixed model assembly lines using time studies and lean manufacturing fundamentals.
- Identify and implement improvements for safety/ergonomics, quality, equipment, cost reduction, scrap reduction, and increased productivity.
- Create and maintain work instructions for assembly line operators and trainers.
- Provide daily support to assembly lines by addressing and resolving quality issues, tooling/equipment issues, downtime, and operational delays.
- Design custom fixtures and tools for specific assembly applications.
- Purchase tools/equipment for assembly; Submit Capital Appropriation Requests for large projects.
- Create and maintain optimal material flow and inventory control using Kanban strategies from storage to point of use.
- Work with Design Engineering to build and assess Design Verification Units and Pilot Units, providing input on manufacturability of product design.
- Participate in the timely flow of company processes, including Deviations, Change Requests, Engineering Change Orders, and implementation of change.
- Calculate and provide cost analysis reports for design and process changes.
- Create and maintain labor routings to assist in accurate product costing.
- Communicate problems or obstacles to the appropriate management team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
- Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, continuous line support and attend cross-functional team meetings.
- Physically capable of helping to move assembly lines, assemble material racks, set up kanban bins, tape aisles and locations, operate a pallet jack, lift 50 lbs.

The annual salary is $67,000-125,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. This role is eligible for a bonus based on performance. In addition to your salary, Ice-O-Matic offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
