JSG, a national recruiting firm is assisting our global manufacturing client with a direct hire, Manufacturing Engineer near Charleston, SC. The incumbent will evaluate, develop and document manufacturing processes to provide greater productivity and efficiency. Additional responsibilities include participating in project management activities.
Our client is unable to provide current or future sponsorship. Relocation is available.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work with management, process engineers, and lead machinists to understand all levels of manufacturing inputs in assigned areas and use this understanding to drive improvements
• Perform work on machines and hand processes as part of learning process
• Develop and improve manufacturing plans based on capacity and resource utilization
• Improve manufacturing processes through statistical data analysis; lead improvement efforts
• Create standard work instructions and related documentation for manufacturing processes
• Identify high waste activities and progressively take on leadership roles in activities to reduce waste
• Create fixture drawings
• Actively participate and progressively take leadership roles in team-driven activities related to continuous improvement such as Kaizen events, 5S, Process Flow, Cost Improvements, etc.
• Lead small group(s) of production/technical employees to determine root cause of problems
• Participate in project management activities and progressively take on larger scope project management roles
• Participate in machine selection, planning, and runoff of purchased equipment

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 2+ years' experience in a CNC Manufacturing environment
• Advanced math skills (ability calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, volume, circumference and rate; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry)
• Knowledge of CAD, ability to learn SolidEdge
• LEAN
