Position Summary
Identify, support and manage process development and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for providing expert daily direction in set-up, trouble-shooting, repair and continuous improvement of production equipment. Resident expert on production equipment and processes and provides education to engineers, manufacturing and maintenance personnel to ensure efficient product processing. Contributes to cross-functional development teams through risk analysis, verification and validation testing and process development. This position will work under general direction and have latitude in determining how to solve problems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides daily direction and support to manufacturing to support production lines.
- Support capacity planning and growth.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Other responsibilities will include implementing new methodologies, materials, machine processes or products.
- Interface with the production personnel to actively troubleshoot production problems as well as continually improve the process.
- Maintains control of component and tooling implementation for production, including but not limited to equipment validation, component drawings and device bill of material.
- Provides expertise in specification, procurement, build, documentation, validation, and personnel training on manufacturing equipment.
- Review product field returns with Quality Assurance personnel to determine root cause of potential manufacturing defects and provide process corrective actions if a defect trend analysis documents an unstable process.
- Comply with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws and standards
- Implement lean systems and improvements.
- Apply advanced lean and 6-Sigma principles to solve technical and non-technical problems.

Requirements
- BS in Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the medical device industry
- Medical device manufacturing experience, preferred experience supporting production line(s)
- Statistical analysis of various types of data
- Experience with medical device design controls
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Mechanical aptitude/trouble shooting
- Lean & 6-sigma experience preferred

Starting annual salaryrange: $77,000 - $90,000
