color:rgb(36,36,36);">Collaborate closely with Design Engineering to drive Design for Manufacturability in future programs early in the design phase.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Develop process designs that form the basis of high-volume production lines and support Tesla’s industry-leading dimensional quality of the vehicles produced.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Take direct responsibility for achieving dimensional quality targets and lead all activities towards this objective including the development of GD&T strategies, quality control plans and dimensional improvement plans.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Drive tooling design and development in accordance with the process plan and GD&T strategy, working closely with Tesla’s partner vendors to buy-off and deliver the final product.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Participate in the development and review of early project planning documents such as project timelines, Requests for Quotations, FMEA’s and Safety Risk Assessments.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Lead the development and introduction of processes and equipment associated with early prototype builds and highlighting key process and equipment improvement opportunities throughout the prototype builds themselves.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Arrange and participate in line design reviews of robot and tooling simulations, cycle time plans, and general line layout, driving optimization towards fundamental engineering limits.

color:rgb(36,36,36);">B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Able to function independently, be a strong collaborator, detail oriented, organized, hands-on and able to make strong decisions.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.

color:rgb(36,36,36);">Strong familiarity with structured problems solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, etc.).
color:rgb(36,36,36);">3D CAD experience in reviewing and modifying 3D models of tooling and product.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Experience creating various reports and database tools for presentation to Executive Leaders within the organization.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and configuration is preferable.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Experience with robot programming, backup and restoration is preferable.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Hands-on experience with modifying jigs, fixtures, and coordinating equipment installations.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Good understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods, design reviews and cost reduction methodologies.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Experienced with AUTOCAD, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, and other similar software/tools.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and configuration is preferable.
color:rgb(36,36,36);">Experience with robot programming, backup and restoration is preferable.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
