JOB SUMMARY:
The Lathe Operator will calibrate and operate a Manual Lathe machine which is used to cut, sand, drill, and turn materials. Reading blue prints the Operator will calculate the dimensions needed for the job. The Operator will inspect their workstation to ensure the machine is in working order.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Capable of interpreting blue prints
- Able to do basic mill set ups
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
- 1 - 3 years’ experience working with machines
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate lathe to perform machining operations; turning, boring, threading, and facing
- On metal workpieces; castings, forgings and bar stock according to specifications
- Read blue prints, job orders, tooling instructions and charts
- Operator will be responsible for operation of machine
- Monitor and maintain equipment and machinery
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and machines
- Great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude
- Strong comprehension and analytical abilities
- Good computer and mathematical skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Heavy lifting may be required, up to 50 pounds
- Position may involve long periods of standing, squatting, bending, twisting and reaching
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
