SUMMARY
The Manager, Worker’s Compensation, Risk, and Benefits is responsible for analyzing, designing, and administering Hibbett I City Gear’s employee benefit programs including worker’s compensation, medical, dental, vision, life, disability plans, 401(k), stock purchase plans, wellness, voluntary benefits, and paid time off.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all benefit plans are in compliance with Hibbett I City Gear’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements (ERISA, DOL, ACA, HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, etc.).
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing Hibbett | City Gear workers' compensation program. Implements all matters of the program, including claim investigations, settlements, and litigation.
- Resolve employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures in an effective, efficient, and engaging manner.
- Manages open enrollment for benefits, including preparation of open enrollment materials and announcements, system configuration, and system testing.
- Update and maintain the HRIS systems, including ensuring file feeds are working correctly from the HRIS systems to correct vendors, ensuring data integrity in the HRIS database with daily maintenance of carrier files, resolving data errors, and updating data.
- Conduct periodic audits of benefit programs, procedures, policies, and workflows to ensure efficiencies and compliance. Develop processes that improve department and end user efficiency and enhance overall benefit process productivity.
- Process all monthly benefit premium invoices for approval and payment, and scans documents for retention; ensures timely payment to vendors; initiates monthly reconciliation of benefit plan deductions by validating/correcting inaccuracies between HRIS and vendor systems.
- Handle benefits renewal process, pricing, and strategy in conjunction with the Director, Human Resources Operations. Ensures programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective.
- Assist in the development of strategic total rewards plans, goals, and objectives.
- Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager of Benefits directly manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years of experience in benefits with extensive knowledge of the function and department processes
- Experience in a leadership role and developing and mentoring employees.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- HRIS experience in Workday preferred
- Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications, data query tools, word processing software, electronic mail, and internet search tools.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
