Position Summary: The Manager of Strategic Planning will focus on managing and leading a team of analysts that support long-term Strategic Planning, financial modeling, and data analysis. This role will also apply a strong strategic lens to comprehensive analyses to provide thoughtful insights that drive business decisions. The Manager of Strategic Planning will be responsible for understanding drivers of business financial performance, enhancing financial transparency, continuous improvement of reporting, supporting business planning, and both short and long-term forecasting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage long-term financial modeling of strategic initiatives in support of the company's long-term strategic plan.
  • Conduct business studies on past, forward-looking, and comparative performance, identify trends, analyze, and interpret data, conduct benchmarking and process analysis, and recommend actions to senior management supported by financial analysis.
  • Analyze and understand the competitive landscape, and opportunities for platform expansion, to inform strategic decision making.
  • Partner with business leaders to implement objectives and key results (OKR) operating model across the company and drive accountability using KPIs to evaluate success and challenges.
  • Continuously evolve product hierarchy and associated reporting with an end goal of critically looking at all evolving product lines from sales to EBITDA.
  • Incorporate Strategic Planning processes and initiatives, including modeling, with budgeting and forecasting processes related to long-term forward-looking financial models and strategic roadmaps.
  • Develop clear and engaging presentations to convey complex analytical findings and offer strategic recommendations for executive management and the board of directors.
  • Establish strong partnerships with business units to understand the operational business activities and impacts based on financial performance.
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function.
  • Complete and deliver critical ad-hoc analysis as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, planning, and forecasting providing business insights and recommendations.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerBI, Tableau, or similar data analysis visualization tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency, with experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages.
  • Well-informed in current financial subjects, accounting, and business environments.
  • Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball.”
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a “roll up your sleeves” and “win every day” mentality.
  • Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals.
  • Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately.
  • Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection.
  • Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Certifications:

  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, or related field.
  • Experience in a public company, investment banking, private equity, and/or management consulting is strongly preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 10% domestic travel required.

Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

  • Additional hours may be required (exempt positions).

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
