The Process Excellence and Strategy Manager's primary responsibility is to lead critical, cross functional, process improvement initiatives. The candidate must have a proven track record of implementing change in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
The Process Excellence and Strategy Leader will play an active role in Bracing and Supports' annual and multi-year strategic initiatives such as planning opportunities for new organic growth, evaluation of acquisitions, and large-scale business process improvement activities using lean methodologies.
This leadership role will support the R&D leader in budget management and financial reporting process improvement. They will support employee engagement initiatives to ensure improved performance on engagement scores.
Essential Functions:
Process Improvement
- Develop competency in the most relevant Enovis Growth Excellence (EGX) tools, including Accelerated Product Development, Root Cause Countermeasure, and Transactional Process Improvement
- Evangelize EGX tools to drive cross-functional alignment and improvement to New Product Development process
- Develop and improve third party relationships that can increase the capacity, efficiency, and effectiveness of Bracing and Supports' NPD efforts
- Develop process improvement roadmap and drive resulting actions
- Initiate, lead, and implement process improvement projects through the disciplined use of measurements, accountability, analysis and discussion of process alternatives in order to arrive at best practices
- Participate in development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for programs and individuals
- Bring expertise or identify subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts in process improvement, data capture and analysis, infrastructure support, tool ownership and compliance with procedures, etc.
- Provide training activities, and support/mentor change agents and team members
- Communicate successful outcomes and promote a culture of ongoing process improvement
- Ensure that policies and procedures align with corporate vision
Strategy
- Develop strategies for Bracing and Supports, including requirements for new product development, determination of new skills or capabilities, and identification of acquisition targets
- Understand market trends, healthcare professional's needs, competitive strategies, etc. and use this knowledge to guide development of plans and products
- Establish strategic plans and objectives; drive resulting actions
- Plan, manage, and control the activities of a team that provides operational support for a business segment, group or team
- Advise business groups by providing strategic direction to initiative prioritization, integration and resource application
- Institute capacity management approach to enable optimal use of cross-functional resources on highest priority projects
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function
R&D Initiatives
- Implement yearly engagement survey actions
- Manage annual R&D planning meeting, L2 meeting, coordinating with various R&D leaders
- Establish and track R&D KPIs and resulting actions
- Support R&D leader in creating materials, content, and programs in preparation for L1 meetings, QBRs, and other leadership and strategic meetings
- Make recommendations based on internal and external factors to minimize risks and formulate plans to achieve an organization's long-term goals
Project Management
- Initiate and direct complex projects, including those managed by others; direct project staff
- Influence and negotiate with senior management
- Conduct meetings and manage task forces; oversee project control
- Employ creative problem solving to generate solutions and directions
- Interface with high level users to define needs and issues; manage the creation of user training; manage budget/forecasts; develop and/or authorize policies/procedures/controls within scope of project to optimize results
Qualifications:
Education/Degree/Field
- Bachelors in Engineering (or similar)
- 5-10 years business experience
- 2-3 years management experience
- Experience with medical device product development preferred
- Manufacturing process experience preferred
